Keshia Chanté's Tips For A Shopaholic
Hi, my name is Keshia Chanté, and I’m a shopaholic—the good kind! (Well, at least that is what I tell myself, anyway.) Long gone are the days when I could look into a full closet and say, “I have nothing to wear!” Now, I can pull a look together in a moment’s notice.
This wasn’t always the case. I started my career as a professional singer at the age of 14 and have been immersed in the fashion and beauty industry ever since. Suddenly, I could pull designer duds off the runway and I had glam teams and stylists at my disposal. All that glamour created a monster! I was officially obsessed with clothing and shopping.
It all came to a crashing halt one day when a jacket I didn’t recall buying appeared at my front door. I was addicted to shopping apps and would surf at night until I fell asleep. My credit card was on file, so one click and boom—it was mine.
After that, my BFF gave me a mini intervention. I had things in my closet I never wore, stuff with tags and duplicates of the same jeans or tank top. It was pretty embarrassing, not to mention excessive.
I realized I needed to curb the way I shopped, so I created a strategy that has changed my life and my wallet! Now I shop guilt-free and I love everything I have in my wardrobe. Today, I present to you a new and improved fashionista.
Do you look into your full closet and feel like you still have nothing to wear? Are you always shopping but rarely feel warm and fuzzy about your wardrobe? Sounds like someone needs an intervention…
